Shhh

After Karyna McGlynn (“Witches Be Everywhere”)

Promise not to tell. ~ I travel by broom sometimes

but only when no one’s ~ around. They’ll

think the worst if they ~ catch me flying so I walk

like them, as if it’s normal ~ to plod right left right.

Oh, but on a lilting spring ~ morning I might rise up

on the breath of a breeze. ~ That’s why I wear long skirts to

hide my rebellious ~ levitating feet. Wouldn’t you?
